Natural Attractions
It's hard to visit Wausau and not see Rib Mountain, which dwarfs Lake Wausau and its surrounding valley. The state park is open year round and is a great place for hiking and mountain biking trails. During the winter months, carve some turns on Granite Peak Ski Area to experience one of the highest and largest peaks in the Midwest.

History
The Marathon County Historical Museum offers a glimpse of the distant past in Northern Wisconsin on the Wisconsin River. Whether it is French fur traders or the lumber industry, Wausau and the surrounding area offer many historical pleasures.
